Calling it simply a shopping mall doesn't do it justice. Euroma2 is the Garden of Eden for shopping, decorated with the latest styles and newest technologies of the fashion world. Birger Strom and Davide Zanchi, respectively the president and the administrator of the real estate agency that developed the project, Gruppo L.S.G.I., were delegated to inaugurate the building which is now being called "the mall" of the capital city, Rome. "Euroma2 cost and estimated 400 million Euros," explains Davide Zanchi "well, to be more specific, we invested 280 million into the building and surrounding area, while the other 120 million was invested to renovate the shops on the inside of the building by the shop owners."
Majestic and Luxurious, those were the predominant architectural themes for this new structure, which is not by chance in the EUR users at the south of Rome. In fact it's right next door to the office building named "The Cloud" which is one of the most beautiful and spectacular buildings Rome will see built in it's immediate future, designed by worldrenowned Roman architect Massimiliano Fuksas. Euroma2 is also near the "Crystal Palace," the newest building by another world-renowned architect Renzo Piano, which will be built off the shore of the small EUR Lake. Surrounding that are "Eurosky", two 30 story towers, one being for commercial use, while the other is residential. All of these buildings together complete what is called the Roman Europark, a group of prestigious architectural feats and an upcoming part of the city of which Euroma2 is placed right in the middle of.
THE LUXURY THAT DEFINES NEW ARCHITECTURE. "Positioning is fundamental," continues Zanchi, "and this has surely influenced our choices. The dimensions were a secondary fact. Euroma2 is large, but more importantly it is high quality. The multicolour marble required a lot of investment and work, and the obelisks in lapis lazuli and malachite are unique pieces which were carved in Florence, and made from what are by now very rare materials, and this means that creating a project of these dimensions was really something unique."
It's one of the biggest malls in Italy and the most luxurious in all of Europe, Euroma2 was developed in an area which covers more than 50 thousand square meters on 3 floors, with 240 shops and boutiques of the most famous national and international brands. There are 20 traditional and ethnic restaurants, along with stores dedicated to design or leisure time, cafeterias, a super market, and a 4,000 spot parking garage. It was baptized by Cristina Chiabotto, Miss Italy 2004, and it is the first to open to the community that is experiencing an architectural renaissance in grand style in southern Rome, and will re-write the history of the city of tomorrow.
